On the set of “Movie: The Movie”

I started shooting comedy bits on my family’s VHS camcorder. After college, I worked (building pole barns) until I saved up enough money to buy my first computer and taught myself to edit. My short films have played at festivals all over the world including Just For Laughs in Montreal.

In 2004 I got a job editing for Jimmy Kimmel LIVE. I cut there for three years before deciding to refocus on making my own stuff again. I returned within the year as a segment director. Some of my favorite single camera bits included The Handsome Men’s Club and Bryan Cranston’s Super Sweet 60th.

In 2011 I was promoted to show director. Since then, I have been nominated for four Emmy’s, won a DGA and Clio Award, and have had two kids. Last year I was lucky enough to be asked to co-direct LIVE In Front Of A Studio Audience. I was honored to work with a number of my heroes including James Burrows, Pam Fryman, and believe it or not - Norman Lear.

I have directed well more than 1000 episodes of American network television.
